Eleanor Goddard – Director

Eleanor is usually based at the Wetherby showroom where she runs her own projects, but she does try to also spend with the teams in the Harrogate and Pocklington branches too.

Having started her career in interiors with Laura Ashley back in the late 1980s. Eleanor’s career veered from her passion for several years, before undertaking a soft furnishings course and setting up a small business working from home.

Since running Furnish & Fettle Eleanor has immersed herself in the world of high end interiors and loves working alongside the design team to help people achieve their perfect interior spaces.

Glyn Goddard – Director

Glyn runs the operations side of Furnish & Fettle – in his own words “I get stuff done”.

Prior to buying the James Brindley business back in 2016 Glyn was a director of a large food company but always wanted to run his own business and escape the corporate rat race.

With experience & a passion for property renovation Glyn is well placed to understand the challenges clients face when trying to create their dream home.

Ian Beal

Installations Manager

Ian is the linchpin in the team at Furnish & Fettle having recently joined us after running his own business in East Yorkshire for several years.

He brought with him a wealth of hands on knowledge of the high end interiors market which makes him a valuable resource of technical expertise to our team. Ian’s practical experience working on large scale projects throughout both the UK and abroad means that there is little he hasn’t seen or done, which means that we can be confident that we are offering not only a beautiful but also a practical interior design solution.

With his friendly and approachable style, Ian is popular with our team and our clients alike.

“I enjoy seeing a project come together and a job well done” says Ian, who is a perfectionist and takes pride in his work.

Working closely with both the designers and the installations team as well all of our suppliers, Katie handles everything from point of order until the client is completely happy with their finished scheme.

Shaun Sutton

Warehouse Manager

Dougal Doggins

Head of Welcoming & a very poor Head of Security!

As a pedigree black Labrador with an impressive family tree, Dougal’s career should have been as a gun dog. However, with a name like Dougal and not being keen on loud bangs it wasn’t looking like it was going to be his career of choice.

Dougal’s early years were spent working alongside his Mum Eleanor while she ran her small curtain and blind making business from the family home where he developed a clear role for himself providing stress relief. This is a role which he has expanded on since joining the team at Furnish & Fettle, and his particular skill at this is valued by both team members and customers alike. Dougal spends most of his time in the office block behind the showroom in Wetherby known internally as “The Dark Side”, however he does love to visit both showrooms and meet as many people as possible. He has entertained many children (and bored husband’s!) with his signature handshake and cuddles.

If you are visiting either of the showrooms and would like to meet Dougal please just ask as he may be around and he would love to meet you!

Paccelli Sowerby

Interior Designer

Paccelli, or Chellie as she is also know, has  joined our team as an intially as an Intern,  and is now a permanent member of our team working part time while she completes her final year of her BA(Hons) in Interior Design at The University of Huddersfield.

“My vision is to design sustainable, innovative mind blowing spaces that are human-centric. Good design inspires change and growth in the people who use the spaces. I combine research, insight and inspiration to create a memorable experience” says Chellie.

Based mainly at our Wetherby showroom Chellie has been thrown into the deep end and already completed some amazing projects and has developed her own loyal client base.

“By creating mood boards and samples and browsing the material library for inspiration, I’ll help you to develop a concept and scheme for a design before moving on to soft furnishings, or designing bespoke furniture and joinery. Having completed two years of University, I’m always learning (as I think everyone is!) and Furnish & Fettle is a great place for me to do that. I’m enjoying lending my skills to a domestic and commercial design environment and absorbing as much as possible from a team of talented senior designers”

Lucy Dufton

Interior Designer

Lucy joined the Furnish & Fettle team in 2018 bringing a fresh approach and flair to our Interior Design Service in Wetherby. Having worked with some of the top Designers in the area she has developed a very varied style, having worked on many projects from Villas in Europe, Country Estates in Yorkshire, and Full House Renovations. Lucy specialises in whole room schemes looking at everything from cushions, lighting to 16 seater dining tables. Having gained a first class honours degree in Interior Architecture, Lucy also pays a lot of attention to spatial planning, the use of the space and flow through the rooms. The positioning of furniture and lighting can transform a space even before the soft furnishings have been added.

“I tend to take inspiration from many aspects. Architecture, colours, the orientation of room, the use of the space and the style of the property but mainly the clients. If a scheme is not fit for purpose then it will never work. All designs and schemes are tailor made for the client and their home. I have a very down to earth approach based on trust and honesty. Designing someone’s home is not only a privilege it is also a very personal experience for them.”

I believe that the key is to listen to the clients brief and consider their lifestyle when designing a scheme. I enjoy working closely with my clients, enabling us to build an understanding relationship. I always feel privileged to be invited to a client’s home having the opportunity to create a special living place for them.”
