The Most Instagrammable Interior in Harrogate

We are absolutely delighted to be able to share with you an insight into a very exciting commercial interior design project we have been working on alongside the fabulous team at the Wild Plum café inside Snooty Frox in Harrogate. Mother and daughter team Hilary and Bethany Haresign had a clear vision for what they were wanting to achieve and approached us to help them to bring that into reality. Known as Harrogate’s brunch hot spot and one of the most Instagrammable local food destinations, the Wild Plum was in need of décor to compliment their superb menu.

Taking on board the brief and considering the practicalities of a busy commercial space our designer Lucy Dufton got to work producing mood boards and sourcing samples.

Just a few months later and the #wildandrestyled makeover is launched at a glittering party attended by the press, social influencers and us (poor Lucy was on holiday so Leona and Eleanor kindly stepped in to take her glory!).

The results speak for themselves. The positive feedback on Instagram is pouring in even before the doors are opened to the public.

“There’s eye candy absolutely everywhere I look!” says the press release quoting Head Chef Bethany Haresign “I am absolutely delighted with the interior design for our refurbished space.  It’s bursting with colour print, print texture and foliage!”

Enough of the teasing, here’s what it looks like. Always busy and with queues at peak times it was important to create a practical but stylish waiting area. Turquoise paint and a handpainted mural of angel wings was used to create Instagram bait and there’s also a shelving unit with shoppable branded merchandise to keep waiting customers entertained. Heading through into the main dining space the eye is immediately drawn to the wall mural featuring striking trailing orchids by Osborne & Little.

The banquet seating in a matching turquoise leather completes the look and the chairs were re-upholstered in pretty pastel shades to pick out the detail. Bringing the outside in was very much a key requirement for the scheme which features two stunning living walls. This one in the main area also has a neon sign creating another backdrop for those all important selfies!

to the back of the dining area into the new extension there is a glamourous bar adorned with trailing plants and a further seating that takes on a laid back Miami deco style featuring a cole & son wallpaper in palms and pinks @coleandsons. (check details), with fun feather pendants.

It wouldn’t be a true make over with out considering the toilets – especially now that for some bizarre reason they have become the backdrop for many a selfie! We continued with the palm/pink& green theme and went the whole hog with the wallpaper taking it onto the ceiling to add an unexpected twist. The tiling for the walls was a practical but stylish blush pink metro tile, while for the floor a encaustic (check spelling!) multipattern design was chosen. On trend circular brass adorned the walls to keep the glam factor high and another iconic Harrogate brand H2K supplied the luxurious toiletries to finish the whole experience.
